It was a terrible experience!!!!! The guy at reception did not know anything about the hotel and services offered.... They advertise parking services, but they do not offer any parking service and the public parking in the area cost much more than the hotel room... The hotel smell very bad and to complete the experience, there was not hot water in the morning.... Internet service is not present....basically I would really advise to book somewhere else.....
Noisy on Saturday night till 1 am.No hot water on Saturday night, Sunday ok
The Manager and staff were so welcoming and friendly-something which we all take for granted but which does not always materialise. Our room was very comfortable and the cooked breakfast set us up nicely for a busy day. All in all the perfect hotel for a city break.
I loved the friendliness and helpfullness of the staff!!! They were so nice all of the time that I was there. They recommended where to go in Dublin for meals and sightseeing. The manager was approachable right from the start and was interested in getting to know us from the start. Really happy with our treatment from the first minute of arriving there. Hotel was clean and comfortable. (One things was a shame was the fact that the bar was not yet open!!!! Haha! Would have been nice for early evening drink. But there was a bar next door!)
I chose to stay at the gfh Hotel because the last time I was in Dublin in 1992, I was making a radio documentary about Handel, and of course visited the site which was some kind of semi derelict factory. When I discovered a hotel had been built on the site I had to stay there!
Nothing serious. The back rooms suffer from constant low level but annoyng noise from some kind of generator and since the hotel isn't airconditioned keeping the windows closed wasn't an option - and even then that only partially muffles the sound. One small thing puzzled me about the room. Since there's no AC and it was hot in the room, I kept the celing fan on but couldn't find a way to have the fan on and the overhead light in the 'lobby' near the door, off. Maybe there was a switch I missed?
Good breakfast. Good price
Checked into room and it wasn't ready, had to come back later on.
The location was fantastic. We were so close to Temple Bar at the cathedral. The rooms were very clean, very modern, and the bathroom was particularly big with lots of complimentary toiletries. The beds were very comfortable. The staff were really friendly, even though we checked in at 10 at night, and made us feel very welcome. The complimentary breakfast the next day was fantastic as well.
We couldn't get into our room — the machine that made the card keys had broken and then machine that 'picked' the electronic locks wouldn't work first time either. When we got back after eating they had got the door open but couldn't create a key card for us. Slightly annoying but these things happen. The windows, for some reason, were screwed open about an inch — very strange and a little noisy, probably wouldn't be much good in the winter! There was also a large damaged patch of the wall which had been patched up but not very well.
Really convenient to Dublin city centre.
Location was great and room was quiet and comfortable.
Poor standard of finish - basically a bit grotty and battered under a poorly applied coat of paint. Not an irish voice amongst the service staff. Could well have been in Poland or Latvia....
The location of the hotel is excellent, since it is in the very center of the town.
We could only watch up to 4 or 5 tv channels.
Fantastic bed, lovely room, nice big flat screen telly (although limited channels !!), very good location & friendly staff, what more could you want !!
Excellent value Central location
Street noise Vagrants sleeping in doorways adjacent to hotel
Great location, rooms a bit small, but the friendly staff make up for any little problems with this hotel.
The manager of the hotel was very friendly and accommodating. The beds were very comfortable and the room had a ceiling fan. The location of the hotel was excellent and the hotel was on a quiet street.
The hotel was not as it appeared on the website. The restaurant and bar were not open. The bathroom was not completely clean or updated. We were expecting a different atmosphere. This hotel would be a great place to stay for young travellers looking for a relatively inexpensive room.
